A Late Summer Wedding in the Hudson Valley

The Klocke Estate is a distillery and fine dining resturant available for full buyouts for weddings.

When I first had dinner at the Klocke Estate in 2024 shortly after it opened, I thought, one: “I’m going to copy EVERYTHING for my home renovation” and two: “this place would be amazing for a wedding.”

Klocke Estate hosted their first wedding in May, and I was thrilled to be there with my local community. (the Estate is less than 5 minutes from my farmhouse in Hudson).

The couple wishes to keep their celebration private, however they allowed me and the vendor team to share some of the elements everyone worked hard to create for this beautiful, intimate wedding tucked on a hill in Claverack, New York.

A few notes: These GIGANTIC peonies are real. They’re literally the size of bread plates. I DM’d the florist when I got home to gush.

The wedding cake was heaven. This wedding took place in mid-May, which is when the very first Hudson Valley strawberries are starting to be ready; both the cupcakes and the main cake had a generous amount of them.

They served seafood towers at cocktail hour, which is only some of the incredible food that day. During the cocktail hour, I made a plate out of things from the seafood tower to photograph, and then offered it to the nearest guest, who happened to be the bride’s dad. Win-win.

The Klocke Estate sits on a signifigant elevation, with the main building at it’s peak. The wind that day didn’t allow for a the full arch they’d planned, but Bethany from Modern Kicks quickly redesigned the space for the ceremony beautifully, a testiment to her quick thinking.
